Oh my, this was an interesting leopard encounter… We heard that there was a leopard highly mobile not far from our location and decided to take take a chance to see him. We made our way to the area but unfortunately didn’t see him nicely as he moved into the thickets. My tracker and myself went on foot to check where he was going to get a general direction so we could relocate him. I stood on top of a termite mound and spotted him walking through the drainage line away from us. I crutched down in order not to disturb him, since I thought he didn’t see me. I moved back to the vehicle where we mentioned to the guests that we had to give up since he moved across the drainage line, but then... Like I mentioned, I thought the leopard hadn’t seen me when I walked back to the vehicle but he did. He became curious and walked with me all the way to the vehicle without me knowing off course. When I jumped in the vehicle I realized he was only 10 meters behind me, how exciting and luckily we were able to have the best sighting with no one ending up in the top of a tree as a breakfast. He stood in front of the vehicle for a little bit and made his way to the side of the guests where he gave a little show. I guess he wanted to emphasize to us what a cool animal he is. Especially Nicole (one of the guests) will probably never forget this moment ;)
