Location: Makalali Private Nature Reserve, South Africa.
Giraffes are one of the most photogenic animals in the bush and always a great sighting while on safari. These guys were having some trouble accepting each other and came into a typical giraffe ‘standoff’ which eventually ended up in a battle which is called ‘necking’. It is a phenomenon where the giraffes swing their necks to hurt the other individual in order to become the dominant one.
