It was a mission to get this shot, trust me… But after slowwwwwwllllyyy approaching my little friend for about 20 minutes, he looked at me and I managed to get the shot. Very rewarding!! A cool fact about the African Barred Owlet is that they have a very interesting way of taking care of their young. The female stays with the chicks until about 14 days old and then both parents will deliver food. Before this period it is the male who does all the work, a busy guy! They feed the chicks especially after dusk and they require 40(!!) feeds in a 6 hour time period, dedication!
